Sammy's Story...
Meet Sammy! Mellow, affectionate, loves quiet company. This little guy loves to be loved. He is an observer first; waiting until he's assessed the situation and can determine whether or not he wants to participate. He loves to stroll along at the park and explore, sit by your side on the couch or come along with you for a ride in the car. His ideal home is quiet and mellow just like he is, yet active enough to get him out for a little exercise and adventure time. Once Sammy is comfortable on his bed or has found a "comfort" spot, he asks to be left alone please. For that reason, a home without children is best. Sammy is great with dogs and cats, keeping in mind he'll prefer they too leave him alone when he's resting. Sammy walks beautifully on a leash and completely chills in the car. A sweet, loving and well-behaved gentleman. Love this little guy! 8 years young. 11.5 lbs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a Washoe Valley Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Washoe Valley, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Washoe Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washoe Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washoe Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washoe Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
