Hardy's Story...
Handsome Hardy is hardly heavy - he's just a tiny squirt! This toy chihuahua is 18 months old and about 5 pounds. He's a little too skinny for our liking right now, but even when he fattens up, he'll always be a small pup. Hardy arrived at ACL after arriving stray at a local animal control. Hardy is a sweet boy who's eager for social interaction and love. He's a little skittish after his ordeal, so he'd prefer a chihuahua-savvy home that will give him time to relax. He's better with adults than children, like most tiny dogs, and he's fine with other small dogs. Hardy is sure to be a total lap dog - he just needs a chance to trust you, and then he's nothing but love!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hardy, a Oak Park Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Oak Park, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Oak Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
