Alexus's Story...
Alexus is an Australian Kelpie mix and is 7 weeks old. She will be a larger sized dogs but since we don't know what she is mixed with, we can't guarantee size. She will be looking for an active family that is able to spend time teaching her what all puppies should know- manners, potty training, social skills, and leash walking.

Alexus has had her first set of vaccinations, is microchipped, been dewormed and vetted. Her new family must be able to provide continued vetting to finish her puppy vaccinations. A spay/neuter contract will be signed at the time of adoption.

If you are interested in meeting Alexus, please fill out an application on our website at www.heartsforhoundsrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alexus, a Virginia Beach Australian Kelpie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Kelpie for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Australian Kelpie puppy from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Kelpie breeders who help with Australian Kelpie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
