Little Saint's Story...
Little Saint has a heartbreaking story that only she knows. What we do know is that she was left on the sidewalk outside of a PetSmart in terrible condition. Our volunteers immediately grabbed her and rushed her to our vet. There the vet diagnosed her with head trauma and a broken jaw and named this fighter Little Saint. She’ll have a long road ahead of her, including needing her jaw sewn shut to allow it to heal. As of now, she’s eating and is a happy, loving kitten. We may never know what actually happened to her. Was she hit by a car? Kicked by someone? We don’t know, but we do know that she's healing well and is hoping to find a loving home. Come meet her at Pet Valu in Island Park.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Little Saint, a Freeport Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
