Tracie is best friends with George. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Tracie is one of our newest rescues, and is one of a bonded pair of siblings. George, her brother, is shown with her in one of the photos. We want to keep them together, and adopt them together. George will have a separate posting, but will also indicate, we want him adopted with Tracie. These two were rescued from a high kill Texas shelter, and have had a rough life of abuse and neglect until they landed with our rescue. They had eye infections, hair loss, covered in ticks and fleas, would flinch at sudden movements made towards them, and just really needed a little love and care. They trust slowly, but after a week or tow, are bonded for life. Both are fine with children, both have a little fear of men, both are completely house broken and non destructive. They are big dogs and not to be crated. They can only go to an indoor home, and one with a privacy fenced back yard. They completely fall apart in loud thunderstorms and need reassurance that all is well. Going to assume that fireworks will have the same affect on them. They are incredibly sweet and devoted, low energy, and perfect companions. We prefer they be the only pets in the home although we have not tested them with cats. They have shown some reaction to other dogs so the safest way to place them would be together as the only dogs. George is the quicker to trust and will be your best friend forever. Tracie is a little slower to accept, but once she does, you are her best buddy. Both are extremely beautiful. George has the absolute saddest face and eyes but is a happy boy. They LOVE treats and will dance for them. Looking for their perfect forever family that will be patient and kind to two dogs really needing to know what this feels like.
About Grateful hearts Senior Dog Rescue - Ohio Chapter
We are a small group of ladies specializing in rescuing primarily senior dogs off death row in Texas shelters-we have a committed and large foster network in Texas, and rescue there because of their high kill rates-and senior dogs have little hope of making it out alive. We do occasionally rescue younger dogs as well, if their time has run out and they are headed for euthanasia. All dogs come fully vetted, along with initial meds if needed for any treatment.
