I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
My name is Angel. I am a Dachshund/ Chihuahua mix who weighs 14 lbs. I’m brown and white in color and my best feature is my gigantic ears. It’s the first thing everyone notices about me.
I came into PPR when Russ and Linda were doing a shelter visit and the staff told them about me. The staff wasn’t sure if I’d pass temperament test. I was extremely scared – and thoughts are that I could have come from an abusive home. I was picked up as a stray on the streets of Dayton, Ohio. When I first saw PPR reps I was scared and Linda came into the kennel and sat with me for a long time. I finally turned and took a few steps and she picked me up and put me in her lap and told me to not be afraid – that it would be okay and that she was going to try to get me out of there. That was a few weeks ago and I have blossomed into a wonderful companion. What a little TLC can do!
I am completely vetted: Spayed, heartworm and fecal tested (all results negative), have had all shots, and have been micro-chipped.
I am only two years old. I am very mellow for my age considering I am so young. I am doing great on my potty-training. I do great if you let me out often and I’ll go to the door if you are nearby to let you know I'd like out. I have had a few accidents when I’ve been left for a long period of time, but have NEVER had an accident in my crate.
My favorite pastime is lying on the back of the chair and looking out the window. I’m a squirrel and bird watcher and will let you know when they’re around. I love to spend time outside in the yard – so we require a fenced-in yard for me. I love to take off running as fast as I can. I’m the fastest here at the moment! The puppies try, but they are no match for me.
I love other dogs as long as they are small like me. I’m not too affectionate with large dogs! I’ve attended different adoption events, festivals, and home visits to people’s homes and seem to get along great with children 6+ of age. I enjoy taking walks, going on car rides, and being a couch potato.
If you think that I might be the right companion for you (I can’t believe that I wouldn’t – I’ve been called near perfect), please complete (thoroughly) an application on our website to be considered to be my forever home.
Until I’m adopted, I will be attending adoption events at Petco – the next one is October 15th and I'll be there… unless I’m adopted first!
If you have any questions or would like to be considered for me – please contact my foster home at the link below. My adoption donation fee is $275.

I just can't wait to find a forever home! Thanks!!!
We are a small group of friends who all volunteer their personal time and work hard using special talents to make an impact on the life of a dog in need (one at a time). We are experienced in small, long-haired breeds with special focus on the Yorkshire Terrier.
Our volunteers foster out of their homes. We raise funds with members who handcraft doggie items and homebaked doggie treats to sell at area craft fairs and festivals.
We can always use help and support! FOSTER HOMES ARE ALWAYS NEEDED in the Greater Dayton area.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our fosters are in our volunteer's homes and an appointment would be needed to meet the dog.
We do pet events - check the Events calendar on our website at www.puppypalsrescue.com for more information.
You can also visit our website to complete an application to adopt or email us with questions.
Our Adoption Process...
To adopt - An application will need to be completed which will include 3 personal references; and, a vet reference (if you have one).
A telephone interview by the foster home and a home visit will be scheduled. Once these are completed the foster home has the final say on the adoptive family.
We match the dog's personality with the family. Every animal is different; some are child friendly - others might not be. Some require fenced-in yards .. others might not. We discourage the use of invisible fences for small breed dogs.
Our fees are based on the age and medical needs of the dog and range from $100 - $400.
