Misty's Story...
This litter of five small breed mixes are 8 weeks old and ready for their new families! We are calling them Shih Tzu mixes but we don't know their parentage and mom is a small mixed breed herself. These puppues are sweet and cute as can be. They are looking for families that can spend a lot of time with them teaching them all the things that puppies should learn- manners, potty training, social skills, and leash walking!

Each puppy has been microchipped, had their first vaccinations, been dewormed and vetted. Their new families must be able to provide continuing vet care to finish out their puppy vaccinations. A spay/neuter contract will be signed at time of adoption.

If you are interested in one of our puppies, please fill out an adoption application at heartsforhoundsrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Misty, a Virginia Beach Shih Tzu/Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Chihuahua for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Chihuahua breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
