My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SASSY

Spayed female     White     Miniature Poodle Mix     12 lbs.     About 1 year old

"Angel Dog Seeks Angel Person"
That would be the title of my listing on a dating site.  And it really describes my situation.  I'm something of a "special needs" dog, which is why I'm looking for an angel to scoop me up and take me home.  But my special needs notwithstanding, I really am an angel of a dog.  I am a heavenly white color and have a poodley non-shedding coat (great for your furniture and your new black dress pants!)  I love people and other dogs, perfect if you like to take walks around the neighborhood and want a dog that is a perfect angel with everyone you meet along the way and who walks very nicely on the leash.

Now for the "special needs" part.  I haven't had the best of luck in my short life; my spine was injured and I have nerve damage that is probably permanent.  That causes a few problems.  One pretty unimportant one is that my tail doesn't work quite right, so I can't wag it properly.  A little embarrassing for me since I'm so friendly and want to wag my tail constantly for you, but as I said, not important.  A bit more serious is that I don't have feeling in my lower parts, which means that while I might be "mentally" housebroken, I really can't control my "output," if you know what I mean.  However, if you are the angel that adopts me, the poodle rescue people have some ideas about how to manage this and will share those ideas with you.

I hasten to add that  this spine injury in no way affects my mobility.  I run, I jump, I play ball.  I am devilishly energetic -- in fact it is really hard for me to sit still (I am still a puppy after all, even though I'm an angel).  I hope that you are someone that can be MY angel.  Even though everyone is  very sweet to me here, life in the kennel is really not for me and every night before I curl up to sleep I pray that I am adopted soon. Adoption fee waived.

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.
The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
