Onyx's Story...
We got a call about a little black kitten held at the shelter. ++ She was very sick with a cold and they planned to euthanize....but nobody wanted to do it. She was precious, about 10 weeks old, but too ill to keep in the shelter. Friends of Rescue had her out of the shelter within hours and her cold quickly + cleared up with antibiotics and TLC. She's now a rambunctious, curious, enthusiastic, solid black, HEALTHY kitten is is helping me write this bio as we speak! Her + little paw is on the plus sign...so you may see them sprinkled through :).+ She likes Cheetos and enjoys Eggplant Parmesan+ as well. Goat cheese is a favorite. We're pretty sure she was a dumpster diver at a VERY young age. Want to meet her? It's easy, email info@FORrescue.net and ask to speak with Onyx's foster mom. We'll be in touch immediately. Onyx is located in Huntsville, AL +++ Thank you for reading about her +

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Onyx, a Chattanooga Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chattanooga, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chattanooga.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chattanooga already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chattanooga breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chattanooga paves the way for another one to be saved.
