October 2016:

Izee is a six month old mixed breed puppy. She weighs about 35 pounds. She is sweet, loving, and gets along with all dogs and people that she has met! She loves to carry toys around while wagging her whole body. Haha! She loves to show off the toys that she has found and she is in the process of being kennel trained. She can go about 6 to 8 hours without a potty break. She is very quiet and content in her kennel throughout the night and she lets her foster mom know around 7am when she needs a trip outside after a long night's sleep.

She can sit and lay down on command and is able to sit on command before eating her dinner! What a smart puppy! When she is inside in the kitchen with her Foster parents, she enjoys walking around, showing off her toys, sitting near them, and sleeping in their presence. She is a very easy going puppy and quite a joy to have in the house! She enjoys being petted and getting a tummy rub. :) She is precious and ready to find her forever home! ❤️

Adoption Donation: Our standard adoption fee is $450 which covers all age appropriate vaccines (3 DHPP vax), (Bordetella vax), (Rabies vax if 12 weeks and older), utd on flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention, spay or neuter of pet, bi-weekly worming, heartworm test @ age 6 months or older, fostering costs, transport and health certificate!

Unfortunately, we would love to be able to have each and every southern dog and puppy in a northern foster home, but, the reality of that happening is pretty slim. There are too many dogs in the south, and nowhere near enough foster homes in the north to give them temporary homes. :-(

Please do not let their current foster home location stop you from adopting, you will be able to talk with the Louisiana foster home to find out all about the dog or puppy you are interested in.... YOU are their hope, they need YOU to complete their lives..... ❤️

We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.

About Loyal Heart Adoption Coordinator

About Our Rescue Group...

Loyal Heart Adoption Coordinator, works to facilitate the re-homing of puppies and dogs in need, all of them come from the efforts of our affiliate Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi rescue groups and their wonderful dedicated foster homes who rescue and rehabilitate and take care of these babies for so long before coming northeast to their furever homes.

The majority of dogs and puppies in the south will be killed within 7 days of being dropped off at a shelter IF they are thought to be strays, IF an owner drops them off they could be on their way to the gas chamber as the owner walks to their car. IF we have room in a southern foster home we can pull many of them and place them into foster care for several weeks, with a private foster family until they are fully vetted. When there is a litter of puppies in need of rescue and their Mom is available we ALWAYS take her in, too, once her puppies are weaned she is spayed. Then they head north to new furever homes! There are a lot of IFs in rescue.....

IF a dog or puppy is marked as "New England" it simply means they are already there or will come into northern foster care IF they are NOT adopted first, if they are adopted first they will arrive from AL, LA or MS directly to their new family, once in their new home they must stay within the family's home and yard for one week!

Once a dog is committed to, they go on the next available transport. If they remain in the AL, LA or MS foster home they are taking up a space where another dog or puppy could be pulled from the shelter, or kept from going into a shelter, to come into rescue. Stray dogs and puppies have a 7 day "hold" in the shelter (waiting for someone to come in and claim them) before they are killed / euthanized, so an adopted dog or puppy remaining in a foster home could mean the death of another dog or puppy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have one physical location. Our dogs and puppies are kept in private foster homes in Alabama, in Louisiana, in Mississippi and in New England (if we are lucky enough to have a northern foster home) as part of a family, to help prepare them for transition into their northern forever homes and also to have enough time to have them receive all the necessary vetting we require before placing them with an adoptive family, for their health and safety.

You are very welcome to speak with the the foster family about the dog/puppy you are interested in after we receive your application! Please CLICK HERE to apply!

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process involves a completed application, a vet reference, a phone interview/home visit and an adoption agreement must be signed. The adoption fee goes to the vetting and personal care of the dog/puppy you are adopting as well as the care of other dogs/puppies coming into rescue. Adoption fees MAY vary per dog or puppy. Each profile will indicate that particular dog's/puppy's adoption fee.
