Sadi, a 12-year-old Australian Shepherd mix, is the quintessential Gryffindor. Brave, daring, courageous, and unceasingly loyal, Sadi’s fur is even the golden-red of her house colors! Despite being completely blind in one eye and missing the other, Sadi doesn't even skip a beat. There’s a deer in the backyard? Not on her watch. A snake slithering through the grass? She'll find it before you do (and, more importantly, before it finds you!). A horse snorts as she’s walking past at the start of her two mile walk? Well, that needs to be explored. There’s no adventure that she’ll back down from, no noise left uninvestigated, and no end to her curiosity. If there ever came a day where you needed to face down a dark wizard, rest assured she’d be right there by your side.
Despite her diabetes, Sadi is quite healthy. Her diabetes is easily managed by two small injections twice daily and watching what she eats. And she is in wonderful shape- she loves to go on walks around the neighborhood or romps in the yard. But she's also just as content to sleep by your side (cuddled up on several pillows and a fluffy blanket of course). Also, her sense of smell is so good she can alert to people's low blood sugar!
Sadi is good with small, polite, calm dogs that understand quick movements may startle her. She LOVES kitties (especially those who like to cuddle), and is lovely with gentle children.
