My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ernie is looking for love! Ernie is a 10 year old 4 pound dachshund chihuahua mix who is in search of his forever home.

Ernie loves everyone! He enjoys kitties, dogs and children over the age of 12 years. Ernie is a bit timid at times and needs to be given special attention. He loves to snuggle on a warm lap and have a big cuddle. Ernie loves the big bed, and would love a home where he could sleep in the big bed at night.

Ernie is house trained but like all dachshunds he will need to be confident in his environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. He is crate trained and a very good boy!

Ernie likes to LICK. He licks sheets, other dogs… your feet! A true lover! Ernie would love a home where he could have a lot of love and attention.

Ernie is leash trained and loves to go for walks! He loves to go for car rides and is also very happy as a pocket pet in a bag type carrier. Ernie even loves to have a bath although he is less than enthusiastic with the thoughts of going for a swim!
