Topaz is a mellow 4-year-old pit bull (est. DOB 7/30/12? may be older) who weighs around 70 pounds (she could stand to lose a few lbs!). Topaz is a very sweet girl who loves attention and showing affection towards her people. She is house broken, does well with basic commands, and always aims to please. Topaz is currently with her second foster, as she did not get along with the dogs in her first home. Currently, she is an only dog and LOVES it! However, soon her foster will be graduating from college and Topaz will need to find a new foster home, if not an adopter who will love her and only her. Topaz was previously thought to have Cushing’s syndrome, but was recently re-evaluated and deemed misdiagnosed. Her thyroid was checked and that came back normal. She does have arthritis in her hind legs, so gentle walking and non-strenuous play/activities as well as soft bedding would benefit her. She has integrated well in a home full of children, and loves all people! She enjoys her walks in the desert and playing with her rope or stuffed animal, and of course giving the best kisses and cuddles! This loving girl is definitely a gem and lives up to her name; she will make an affectionate and loyal (albeit lazy!) companion to whomever welcomes her into their home.
