My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are excited to announce that Handsome Harry has found his Forever Home. Congrats, Harry!

Hello there, my name is Harry. If you're searching for a dog with classic good looks, a strong handsome profile and a heart made of gold, then I just might be your guy. Although my true age is not known, you could say I'm somewhere in that range they call "Senior." Right around the time people started putting up their Halloween decorations last year, I found myself wandering the streets alone, hungry and unkempt. A kind person picked me up and took me to a shelter where I could be warm and well-fed. Next thing I know, I'm being taken to this place out in the country where there are birds and deer and views for miles. I loved sleeping inside at night and spending my days on a soft bed outside, watching the comings & goings of Char-Wills Rescue. Once Winter arrived, my human friends thought it best that I live in a foster home, so that's where I've been staying until my Forever Family finds me. My fur is now shiny, my eyes are bright and I'm feeling terrific.

"Why hasn't my Forever Family found me yet?" you may wonder.

Well, I'm not really sure. Many people say they're looking for a young dog with lots of energy, but then find that they don't really have the time to devote to training a young pup. A mature dude like myself is happy with a short walk, a good meal and a nice nap. I know to do my business outside and I'm not likely to counter-surf.

The other thing I need to tell you is this:
I don't say "I Love You" on our first date. Or our second. I like to be courted. I like to get to know you, and for you to get to know me. Giving me treats and taking me on a leisurely walk is perfect for our first couple of dates. On our 3rd date, I'll let you go to First Base (scratches behind the ears + some shoulder rubs). By our 4th date, I'm all yours! You can expect full-on, face-licking, hand-nudging, full-body-leaning L.O.V.E. But now-a-days, these young whippersnappers are all about "instant" everything. I'm just not an "Insta-Gram, Snap-Chat, Instant-Love" kinda dog. If you're Old-School like me, don't mind taking things slowly, and appreciate the years of experience I have in the fine art of friendship, then please contact my peeps at cwgsd.rescue@gmail.com to set up our first date. I can't wait to hear from you.
