Hold on to your hat, Oreo has arrived and he's ready for some action. This super sweet Lab mix needs a family who loves adventures. He loves his walks and will play fetch for hours. He's great with other dogs and spends most of his time trying to get them into a game of tag. He has a black and white coat, weighs 45 pounds and is only 2 yrs. old. If you're ready to add some fun into your life you must send in your application asap because this sweet boy is perfect for you.

After reviewing the application, staff will contact you—typically within two business days— to make an appointment to visit the Farm in Centreville, VA, where our dogs and horses are kept.

Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Come by and see us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oreo, a Fairfax Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
