My name is Spice and I have 5 brothers and sisters. Along with my mom Bambi, we were dumped at the March Lane Target in Stockton in a crate with no door. My mom got scared and ran away. A nice couple took us home and gave us baths and fed us, but we really missed our momma. She ran across a busy street and got grazed by a car and picked up by some UOP students. The next day they contacted a rescue group who took her in. They posted momma on FB and that she was missing her babies, and the couple that saved us contacted her. We were reunited that next night!!!! we are about 6 weeks old and are starting to eat real puppy food. Momma is going to get adopted as soon as we stop nursing. We are all between 1.5 and 2lbs and love to run around, but we fall over a lot! It's fun. We also play with toys and each other. We'd really like to find our forever homes...with YOU!

About Hoofs, Paws and Claws Haven

About Our Rescue Group...

Hoofs Paws and Claws Haven (HPCH) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals in our surrounding community. We rescue a variety of animals, and actively search for their forever homes. This is provided we have a foster home available. We take in dogs from local shelters and also strays. We also provide a safe "haven" for any animal who may not be adoptable.

HPCH is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, our tax ID # is 47-3887603. Your donations are fully tax deductible and fund our operations and help pay our vet expenses.

HPCH is dedicated to reducing the number of homeless pets through the spaying/neutering of all our rescued dogs. We provide information on low cost or no cost spay/neuter clinics in our surrounding areas.

Each dog that comes to us has been updated on shots, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Many of our dogs have also been treated for various medical conditions including mange, heart worms, broken bones, neurological issues, etc. One of our dogs can take anywhere from one month to one year to get ready for adoption and the cost for the dogs we take on can range from $150 to several thousand dollars. We take on dogs from shelters that are set to be euthanized for various reasons, including simply that they've been there too long, or they have a medical condition that precludes them from adoption to the public, making them "rescue only." This means only a rescue can pull them from the shelter, but also leaves us to be responsible for any costs for things that the dog requires.

We also take on strays and incur the cost of having them vaccinated, spayed, neutered and microchipped. We take on owner surrenders, dogs who owners can no longer provide care. We insure a safe house for all of the dogs that we take on and provide all needed supplies for the foster homes that care for them until they are to be adopted. We also insure that they never end up in a shelter.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoptable dogs live in foster homes and meet and greets are done by appointment only.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process requires an adoption application, a phone screening, meet and greet with animal, a home check and an Adoption Contract and fee.

All of our dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to being adopted. Our adoption fees are considered to be donations. All donations from adoption go right back into our rescue account, allowing us to continue to help dogs in need. At the bare minimum, the cost to properly vet a dog is $100-150. But some of the dogs we take on are medical or behavioral cases, which can cost several thousand dollars. Because of this, we ask the following adoption fees:
$350 for puppies, which are any dogs under a year old
$150-250 for any adult dog ages over the age of 1
