In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

Panda is the sweetest, happiest little girl you’ve ever met! She is a 6 year old, 14 pound black and white Shih Tzu, and she just loves life! She’s absolutely adorable, her tail is always wagging and she’s friendly to everyone she meets. She follows her foster mom around everywhere, and needs to snuggle up next to foster mom or dad on the couch whenever they sit down. Panda loves to go on long walks, and she does a little dance every time she realizes it’s time to go outside. She’s house trained, loves to go on car rides and is always playing with her toys - she’s just a good little girl and a joy to have around!

Panda is currently on medication for epilepsy and dry eye, and is also on a high quality refrigerated food. Her epilepsy and eye medications cost about $25.00 per month. She is a little on the heavy side now, her vet would like to see her get down to 12 pounds, so she’s eating a restricted calorie diet and getting lots of exercise every day. She’s already lost much of her excess weight while in foster care, so we are optimistic that she will reach her goal weight.

Panda is very smart and she has learned the commands "sit" and "shake" while in her foster home and is currently working on "down". She would be fine being the only dog in the house or could share it with another easy going small dog. Because Panda loves human companionship so much, she needs a family who is home with her much of the day. She will be happiest in a quiet, calm household with adults and perhaps older, respectful children.

Panda is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $270.00 plus sales tax of $19.64, for a total of $289.64. Her foster parents would like her adopters to live in the immediate Twin Cities area so they can visit once in a while and would like them to also agree to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held each year in September.

To meet Panda, please complete an adoption application. Or you can also see her and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale on November 5th and December 3rd.
