found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
10/17/16 Update: Mandi is a snuggler extraordinaire! When our volunteer photographer met Mandi, she told us, “Mandi is incredibly sweet. She immediately walked towards me and put her face on my shoulder. She seemed to be cautious on her back left leg. She was not interested in playing or running and seemed to want nothing more than to snuggle and get love. At one point, she laid in my lap.”
Mandi had an adoption pending, but that fell through when we learned that Mandi needs help with her sore hip. She will have FHO surgery to help her move freely without pain and soreness. And so Mandi is once again available for adoption. Mandi craves human companionship and attention, and we are sad that she must wait for her home while she gets through her surgery and recovery. Mandi will be better than ever for her loving forever home, and we know someone is going to make up for the extra time she must wait before she can begin her retirement years filled with the love she deserves.
Mandi's Story: Sunshine was recently contacted about a small and super-sweet Labbie in an Alabama shelter. Because she is a senior, estimated to be 10 years old, and because she is a black dog, she had little chance of being adopted and her days were numbered. We could not say no to her sweet face! Named Mandi, we have discovered this small girl of 40 lbs. to have the hugest heart!
We feel she must have been someone’s beloved pet, as someone cared enough to have her spayed, and she is heartworm negative! Mandi is a mellow girl with a low to moderate energy level who gets around fine and is friendly with other dogs and all people. Cats are an unknown. She is affectionate and is waiting for a home where she can go for daily walks, spend lots of quality time with her people, and perhaps become best friends with another mellow dog. We have brought Mandi up to date on her vaccinations, and she is ready for her loving forever home.
Don’t miss out on this sweet girl! If you are already approved for adoption through SGRR please don’t wait to contact the Adoption Committee to be considered to adopt Mandi.

The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home.

Puppies under 6 months $650
Young dogs 6 months - 6 years $550
Young dogs - Special Needs $450
Senior dogs 7 - 9 years $450
Seniors dogs 10 years and older $350
Senior dogs - Special Needs $300
Young Bonded Pairs $850

**Please note: The fees listed represent a slight increase and are effective for applications received after June 1 2014. We regret the need to increase the fees for our dogs, but found it necessary due to the increased costs we are faced with for each dog's care and placement.
A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided.
Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed.
Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical and other expenses. Every cent of your generosity goes directly toward the care of a Sunshine dog.
