Khiara was turned into the shelter as stray. She was pretty timid and scared, but eventually made it to the adoption ward. Because of her young age, the shelter figured she would be adopted quickly and scheduled her to be spayed. During the vet exam, it was discovered that she had a grade 3 heart murmur. As ultrasound was performed and she was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect (a hole), that would eventually kill her within a year or so. The shelter made the decision to euthanize her. Nobody's Perfekt Dogs stepped in and had her examined by a cardiologist, who determined that her condition could be permanently repaired by surgery with a high rate of success that she will live a normal healthy life. So we pulled her from the shelter and surgery was performed on 10-10-2016. Khiara is doing very well and her heart murmur has disappeared.
She still needs to be spayed, but will have to wait until she has fully recovered from the surgery in 8-10 weeks from the surgery date..
Khiara is very sweet, loving and playful. She gets along pretty well with other dogs of all sizes. She loves to give kisses. She can't officially be adopted until she is spayed, but a family wanting to adopt could foster her until the spay surgery, then finalize the adoption.
