for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

RACHEL's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

RACHEL's Story...
This loyal devoted dog was left at a shelter with her seven newborn pups, and she was a fabulous mother, protective and committed.

The pups - who we have for adoption - are ready for homes and Rachel is too! She is a terrific dog who will be a fantastic companion and has great qualities. She is house trained, leash trained, loves riding in the car, can be crated and is extremely quick to bond with humans who treat her well. She will thrive in an active home where hiking and adventure are part of her daily life.

But she has a couple of rough edges, presumably from her previous (unknown) life. She can be fearful of new people and may bark at strangers at first. She will be a bit of a guard barker but can be easily distracted. She becomes very submissive if corrected, so gentle reward based training will work well with this sweet gal.

She will do very well with other dogs and is good with cats. Older kids would be ok but she is afraid of young children.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

RACHEL, a Emeryville Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Emeryville, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Emeryville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Emeryville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Emeryville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Emeryville paves the way for another one to be saved.
