My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

London is a charming female terrier mix, with a wiry white and tan coat; born 02/24/2015. Although she should weigh around 14-15 pounds, her current weight is 12, but she has an excellent appetite and should get to her optimum weight in no time. London was adopted as a nine week old puppy from another shelter. The shelter provided her spay and all the inoculations appropriate for her age. That was the last time London was seen by a vet or given proper food and care. The new owner was thrilled with her new puppy, what fun to love her and cuddle her and show her off to friends; but London is a living animal not a stuffed toy. That old adage “all you need is love” sounds good in a song but dogs require a whole lot more. Apparently, responsible pet ownership was beyond the means of her owner. On 09/20/2016, London arrived at the Safehouse, a filthy frightened, flea ridden malnourished ten pound skeleton. London loves to cuddle, when you hold her she snuggles in to you. She is shy and quiet right now but every so often we get a peek at a playful personality just waiting to pop out. London gets along with other small quiet dogs; she will not do well in a noisy, active home or one with young children. She is housetrained but will require patient guidance as she learns your household rules and schedule. London is a work in progress; she will be a wonderful pet for someone who wants a loving, utterly devoted companion and is willing to provide her with the time and support she needs to learn to trust again. London is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccines, heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and she has had a complete physical and dental. Her adoption fee is $350.
