We call Sony our little lion - with his handsome orange coat, fluffy tail, majestic mane, and rumbling purr it is easy to draw the comparison. Sony adores his people and is never happier than when he is receiving love and attention from them, a fact that becomes obvious when he starts purring his deep, hypnotizing purrs the moment you touch him! He really loves to be hugged, stroked and kissed...would you believe if you pucker up to give him a kiss, he will kiss back? Yup, it's true! Sony has a special fondness for chin scratches and head rubs, a fondness that can only be topped by a good brushing. Sony never gets tired of being brushed. He would be brushed for 8 hours a day if possible. You know that Sony has reached the pinnacle of happiness when he begins to drool!
Sony is the first cat we've ever seen that wakes up from a nap when called and comes over to sit next to you! Pat the spot next to you and there he is without fail. Fall asleep and there is a good chance your faithful buddy will be curled up next to you by the time you wake up! If this mellow fellow isn't fast asleep on his back with all 4 paws in the air or busy snuggling with you, don't be surprised if he starts up a conversation. Sony is looking for someone who is a great listener, because he has quite the reputation around RESCUE for having oh so much to say! Sony will happily sit next to you during a discussion or if the conversation gets really intense he'll march back and forth over your lap, meowing his thoughts and advice to you.
Sony is very curious of his surroundings and loves to explore. It's not uncommon to find Sony lounging on the top floor of his kitty condo or in other high spots where he has a bird's eye view of his surroundings. Speaking of birds, bird watching is one of his favorite activities. Wand toys, mice, and catnip pouches bring out his playful side. Mealtime definitely ranks high on Sony's to do list - "he knows when it's time to eat and will let me know that by not only meowing for his food, but running to the cathouse where his dishes are kept and looking up at you if you aren't getting to that quick enough!" If food isn't readily available, Sony finds plants to be a tasty alternative. No worries though, a little bowl of cat grass redirects his attention away from other plants. HE LOVES KITTY GRASS!
In new places, Sony is a bit shy but really blossoms once he is comfortable. His ideal home will be with a patient family who will let him get used to things at his own pace, and will (of course) shower all the love and affection on him that he so enjoys! We think he'd be fine with children who will be respectful of his gentle nature. Sony wouldn't mind sharing a home with other mellow feline friends, but he would also thrive in a home in which he were the one and only kitty to dote upon.
