My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING
***FIV positive
This handsome guy was trapped while doing a TNR project on a property with over 20 ferals. The property owner hadn't recalled seeing him around much, so we are thinking he is a recent drop off. After he was trapped, fixed, flea-treated etc. and released, he kept going back into the traps....for a total of 4 times. He was very stuffy and sneezing so he went to a foster home to evaluate for treatment for an upper respiratory infection. While getting his meds, he was purring and head- butting our volunteer. Turns out- Elby is an extremely friendly guy just looking for a lap to warm. He went to our own vet for a second evaluation, and was tested . Turns out this love bug is negative for leukemia but positive for FIV. This is NOT a death sentence for a cat. He can be placed in a home with other positive cats, alone, or into a home with calm, non aggressive cats. FIV is only transmitted by deep bites/fighting. Elby was probably attacked by another male who was roaming, he had a lot of scabs around his neck and throat. Talk to your vet, and do some research. Positive and Negative cats can live long happy lives together. He is UTD on vaccines and treated for fleas, worms and ticks. He's such a big lovebug! Can you believe he was just dumped off ?
