Jake's Story...
JAKE

This handsome dude with the big personality and epic ears is Jake, a 2-year-old 7 pound min pin mix who came to us from Roswell. Jake loves to play with other dogs, and will also play fetch with his favorite ball, though he's still learning that he has to give the ball back before it can be thrown again. Jake thinks he is a Very Big Dog, and he loves to be treated like a big dog, but he's quick to give kisses with a little baby talk. Jake is a true lap dog and will look to be seated on any available lap whenever possible. He uses the dog door and is house trained. If you would like to make Jake part of your family, please fill out an application online at www.lapdogrescue.org and include his name at the top.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Tijeras Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua breeders who help with Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
