Lets just start at the beginning, so when you read to the end, you will rush to submit an adoption application for GENESIS at ITVRescue.org. Our male Pit Mix has had a very rough life, but is a gentle soul and just craves tender and loving attention. He was rescued by an animal advocate when the previous owner was going to shoot him because they no longer wished to have him. The advocate then reached out to us for help and we were happy to be able to give him a second chance at a happy home. Genesis is 3 years old and he is well-behaved. He's a larger dog weighing 55 pounds.Once you meet Genesis, you will realize that he is a big ol' baby who deserves a loving forever home. Just look how sweet his photos are! His previous foster says he has been around a baby, but he has some arthritis, so we recommend only older children in the home who understand that Genesis has a sore spot and will comply with gentle attention. He is not slowed down though because he enjoys going on walks and does well on a leash. He is crate trained, but can be trusted to be outside the crate as he does not tear things up. He is also house-trained when kept on a schedule. Genesis prefers to crash on a couch or special soft spot so he can be loyal to his person. He also enjoys playing with squeaky toys, playing, and jumping when he is feeling good. Genesis is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested and prefers female canine companionship. Genesis was abandoned and thrown out. We took him in because we know he has great potential and just needs a fresh chance in life. If you're prepared for a large dog who has some easy special needs, please hurry in to meet Genesis. This guy has waited too long to find his forever home with his special person. Genesis is ready to commit to you for the rest of his life.

About It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) dog rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless dogs irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, animal control, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, black dogs and other hard-to-place dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are generally at Petsmart on Burkhart every Sunday and have adoption events at various locations throughout the year.

Our Adoption Process...

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $150 to $175. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.
