Samson is a 10-years-young, male, white, purebred Bichon-Frise who weighs approximately 10 lbs. He is quite active for his age and a real "momma’s boy." He is a very loving, sweet guy.

This breed is considered hypo-allergenic. If you have allergies, this breed is a good one to consider. See this link for info:

Samson came into Puppy Pals Rescue when his owner had to rehome him due to an abusive spouse. He is quite a spoiled little guy who loves to cuddle up next to you and watch TV or take a nap. We are trying to convert him from being fed from the table - which has been a challenge.

Samson has been neutered, has had all his shots updated, and has been micro-chipped. He came into PPR with a massive cyst on the top of his head which we had removed and sent away to be tested. We weren’t sure if this was cancer. The results came back negative! His hair is now growing back on the top of his head.

We were told that Samson was house-trained, but since coming to his foster home, we are still having problems with him spatting in the house. He is crate-trained and would keep his crate dry for up to 10 hours if necessary, but this is difficult for a little guy. So, we keep a belly band on him while he is in the house and he doesn’t seem to mind. If he was the only dog and someone was home with him to let him out every few hours… it might make a big difference.

Samson loves to jump up on the swing when his foster mom is outside on the glider. He truly is a loving companion who will make someone a wonderful friend for life.

Samson's ideal home would be a single or older female or older couple. He seems to prefer women. He loves to ride in the car and take walks.

For the right home situation, we might consider someone without a fence, but it needs to be someone for whom it is easy to physically walk him to go potty outside and be exercised.

Samson is an older dog, but he has lots of spunk and doesn’t act his age at all.

Adoption Donation Fee = $175.

If you have any questions, please contact Samson's foster mom at the link found at Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting him - you can find those at (Email his foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received!)

Samson just can't wait to find a forever home! Thanks!!!

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small group of friends who all volunteer their personal time and work hard using special talents to make an impact on the life of a dog in need (one at a time). We are experienced in small, long-haired breeds with special focus on the Yorkshire Terrier.

Our volunteers foster out of their homes. We raise funds with members who handcraft doggie items and homebaked doggie treats to sell at area craft fairs and festivals.

We can always use help and support! FOSTER HOMES ARE ALWAYS NEEDED in the Greater Dayton area.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our fosters are in our volunteer's homes and an appointment would be needed to meet the dog.

We do pet events - check the Events calendar on our website at for more information.

You can also visit our website to complete an application to adopt or email us with questions.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt - An application will need to be completed which will include 3 personal references; and, a vet reference (if you have one).

A telephone interview by the foster home and a home visit will be scheduled. Once these are completed the foster home has the final say on the adoptive family.

We match the dog's personality with the family. Every animal is different; some are child friendly - others might not be. Some require fenced-in yards .. others might not. We discourage the use of invisible fences for small breed dogs.

Our fees are based on the age and medical needs of the dog and range from $100 - $400.
