Meet Midas! The first half of his life was spent alone and on a chain, yet his soulful eyes tell his story. He is a very sweet boy who wants nothing more than a human's love and a gentle touch. He is very sad here at the shelter, crying most of the day and his sobbing is heartbreaking to us. We have been taking wonderful care of Midas. He is putting on weight every day and is ready for his new life to begin. He is eager to please his handler and learning some basic obedience. He is a fast learner and is sure to settle into his new home and life well. We are recommending he go home with someone that has breed experience and is understanding of what he has been through. Midas is sure to steal your heart when you see his beautiful temperament. Please consider saving a very deserving life. Midas will be a wonderful companion! Stop in and meet him!
The Animal Orphanage of Voorhees is a loving place that welcomes 2,000 homeless pets each year. Our shelter is open intake, which means our doors are open to dogs and cats of any age, medical condition or breed. We are a no-kill facility and do not euthanize for space. We are a non-profit organization and depend on donations and volunteers to keep our shelter doors open.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our orphanage is open to the public Monday-Friday from 12pm to 7pm, with the exception of the second Wednesday of each month during which we are closed for major cleaning. On weekends you can visit our orphans between 12pm and 5pm Saturday and Sunday. We also have some adorable adoptable cats and kittens at offsite locations: PetSmart in Marlton and PetValu stores of Cherry Hill, Marlton and Voorhees.
Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters must be at least 21 years of age. An application must be completed and can take up to a week to process. Once an application is approved, family meets, dog meets (if applicable) and home checks must be completed.
