My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Marco (HWTH#14437B). He is a Great Dane mix, DOB: 9/17/14. Marco weighs approximately 75-80 pounds (he still needs to add another 10 pounds) and stands 25 inches at the shoulders. Marco's owners moved. They were not able to take Marco with them and were going to take him to the local animal shelter when a neighbor stepped in and took Marco temporarily. When the neighbor found out Marco had originally come from Halfway to Home, he relinquished Marco back to the rescue so Marco can find a better Forever home. For the first few days Marco lived with a Halfway to Home volunteer. Marco lived with 16 other dogs of various ages and sizes with no problems. He quickly learned to use the doggie door and showed that he is house trained. He also is crate trained. This is an incredibly sweet boy who likes to give small kisses and seems to have a rather mellow personality. Lots of love, good-quality human companionship, playtime and exercise will be a must for Marco. Marco walks relatively well on leash but will still benefit from positive basic obedience training mostly for bonding purposes (that is, once he is thoroughly settled in his new home).
