Katy Kanzi's Story...
This pretty little red girl is Katy Kanzi. Katy and her buddy Zoe became DREAM Dachsies when we were contacted by their owner asking for our help. Due to circumstances beyond her control, their owner found it necessary to find new loving homes for her two precious fur-babies. Katy is about 8 years old and weighs only 10 pounds. We're told she is simply the sweetest thing and she even gives her humans hugs. As soon as Katy finishes with her intake vetting, she'll be settling in to a new foster home where she'll be loved and cared for, while waiting for the perfect forever family to bring her home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katy Kanzi, a Houston Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
