Meet "Decoy" He is a 3 year old neutered Labrador Retriever mix. Decoy was rescued along with his brother Duck from a very crowded shelter on CA. Decoy is current on all vaccines, rabies and microchipped. He is very sweet, active, yet calm and confident. He is crate trained and lives inside. We are seeking a home with a fenced yard to play in and another dog he can run and play with. Adoption fee: 550 includes allvetting, neuter, micro-chip and pet insurance. Decoy weighs 70 pounds and loves to play and be loved. He knows basic commands and would benefit from a basic positive obedience training class. Decoy gentle, loving and strong on a leash. Once Decoy masters leash skills he would be a great running buddy. Decoy is eager to learn and a people pleaser. We prefer a home that has a medium to large dog that he could play with or daily doggy day care interactions. I play fine with other dogs my size and do not like being bullied by dogs. I am friendly, crate trained and learning daily! Due to my size kids over the age of 10 would be best cats and small dogs I am curious with proper introductions are a must. I have a health certificate, and tested heart worm negative. I am a strong, sturdy guy weighing 70 lbs. I am ready for my forever home! I would make a great running, jogging or hiking friend. I will benefit from a basic obedience training class and your dedication to train me. I am a shelter dog. I have been living my life in a cell so potty training needs to be part of my program. I am smart and catch on super fast to whatever your teaching me. I would make a great family member or companion to a person with a dog of my energy and kids over age 10. I was saved from a bad shelter in CA and was on my last 12 hrs of life I am very lucky to be alive. I am handsome, healthy, sweet, and looking for my forever home with a fully- 6ft fenced secure yard and I live inside, with my humans. My past history is unknown. I was dumped at a high kill shelter with my brother Decoy. Thankfully was saved by 6 dogrees Rescue. I can't talk to tell you my story but all that matters is I am happy to be looking forward to my new home! I have allot of love to give and I am ready to play. I am smart and athletic and love car rides! I will benefit from positive training and continue with potty training. Pleass submit an online adoption application at Adoption fee: 550.00
6 dogrees Rescue saves dogs that are red listed & slated for euthanasia due to over breeding, lack of funding, spay & neuter and over crowding in CA high kill shelters. We know very little if anything about their past we just know they were going to die within 12 hrs. 6dogrees Rescue is a small passionate 501c3 rescue. For every dog we adopt out we apply the adoption fee to another death row dog and vet bills. Adoption fees are non negotiable. 6dogrees is passionate in helping these dogs. 100% of the adoption fees go to the care and vetting of the dogs. All dogs are vetted spayed, neutered, current with vaccines/rabies/health certificate, heart worm tested negative, and are micro chipped. Vet bills are a big cost in healing these dogs. Medical dogs, surgeries, boarding, and transport are big costs in rescue. We are dedicated to helping the helpless and finding the dogs happily ever after homes! Application can be submitted online at Donations are always wecome. Local WA adoption only.

About 6dogrees Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

6dogrees Rescue was founded in 2008. We are a very small scale "grassroots" rescue. We focus on rescuing euthanasia dogs. 6dogrees Rescue dogs are housed in foster homes, we are not a shelter. Our rescue theory is to run a sustainable rescue with adoption fees covering the vet costs and expenses to save these dogs. A adoption concept that will in return save 1-2 more lives. A portion of the adoption fee will going to the vet bill. If we have a emergency or very sick dogs the adoption fee does not cover the costs.Rescuing dogs out of high kill shelters is expensive.Vet bills are the highest costs in dog rescue. Therefore we accept sponsorship or donations to help us with the costs. Any amount helps save lives. 6 dogrees Rescue is a passionate rescue we are a small rescue and choose to remain to be a small rescue. 6 dogrees feels by remaining small we can assist adopters with any resources they may need to to ensure a successful adoption and a forever home.
All of the dog we rescue are fully vetted and micro-chipped heart worm negative and have a health certificate. The primary focus was to educate about the importance of spay and neutering pets.I continue to encourage adopting over buying. The main focus is to expose, and help the deathrow dogs in high kill shelters. These animals deserve a second chance at life. 6 dogrees mission is to help save dogs slated for euthanasia due to no fault of their own and re-home them into forever homes.
The euthanasia rate of good dogs is staggering. 4-5 million dogs are euthanized in U.S. shelter systems every year. We all cringe and hurry to turn the channel when the heart wrenching Sara McLachlan commercial comes on tv. Why? No one wants to see sad, suffering, abused animals. The sad reality is there are many and if we all choose to “turn off” the problem then who will be their voice? I choose to be a "voice" to make a difference. I am not Bob Barker or Sara McLachlan by any means, but their messages got through to me. I "choose" to be involved and be the voice for the animals that need us. Help us promote adoptions over buying from back yard breeders, share in conversation with friends and family about shelter and rescue animals needing adoption.Explain the benefits of spay or neuter. Everyone can do something to aid in the issue of the pet over population issue. If we all are pro-active for the animals the need for shelters will diminish.
I network all rescue animals. My main focus is on deathrow dogs. It takes a small army of rescue networking to help get dogs to safety. Encourage adoption over “buying” a dog. My life is blessed with 5 dogs and 2 cats. I have been an animal lover all of my life. I enjoy connecting the right dog with the right person. I aim to be a voice for abused, homeless, and chained, animals in need. Abused and neglected animals do not choose where they live in the world, therefore I do not limit my work for animals to just my state. When it comes to saving lives there are no limitations.

Our Adoption Process...

6dogrees Rescue is dedicated to finding the best homes for our animals therefore we screen and ask for references. The process requirements for adopting one of our dogs is to email us at: for a contract and adoption application.
Fill out the adoption contract and application and return by email to for processing.
Adoption fees apply to all of our dogs.
Fees cover the costs to save the dog.100% of the adoption fees are used for vetting and care of the dogs.
We make sure each dog that comes into our rescue is current on vaccines and spayed/neutered before the dog is adopted out. All required vaccinations are provided.
They are all DA2PP shots, rabies, bordetella, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped and groomed.
Because we specialize in Death Row Dogs, many of them require special medical attention.
Some dogs require surgeries including expensive orthopedic surgeries, dental work, teeth extractions, cherry eye, heart worm testing, various routine medications like flea treatments and de-worming medicines, specialized medications to get them healthy for adoption like ear, eye, antibiotic, and medications and other veterinary services.
Some of our dogs require emergency care at the 24 hr vet clinics and that is very costly. If we are lucky enough to have no costs we recycle the entire adoption fee back into rescuing another deathrow dog.
