My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Is she not the cutest little thing you ever did see?!! Gizzy is a special girl. She is an 8 year old female Pekingese. She weighs around . pounds. She is a very sweet girl that wants to please. She is a wonderful friend who is sure to greet you with a smile at the door when you come home.

Gizzy was an owner surrender to a pound, where she found herself thin, overbred, itchy and suffering from flea damage, and in need of a dental and tlc...and headed for death row. Our rescue stepped forward to help Gizzy find a new life--one where she would not be exploited for profit for humans and where she would receive proper care and companionship. She was updated on vet care, groomed, and is in a foster home enjoying being a much loved part of the family until her fur-ever home is found.

This little lady has plenty of spunk and loves to please.. She loves to be with her humans constantly. She knows her name well. She was such a good girl for the groomer. She likes to give kisses and be cuddled. She would rather sit in your lap than be carried around. She does like to play with her toys and chew on appropriately sized bones (with supervision, of course). Gizzy is NOT housetrained. We are working on this, and are also working on using puppy pads as well, as winters might be rough for this girl to consistently go outside, She will need a family that will be patient and understanding of this need. For many dogs who have been kept in confined spaces and forced to relieve themselves wherever they can find a space, this is a habit that will take awhile to break, as they have known nothing else--this is the fault of irresponsible humans, not the dog!!!

Gizzy deserves a quiet home where she can receive a lot of much deserved attention. She does well with other small dogs and cats, and if her people are not home often, the company of another gentle small dog would be a must. A fenced yard would be ideal (actual fencing, no electric/underground). She will need groomed regularly. She is missing some fur due to the flea allergy she suffered from, but we are hoping some of that will grow back now that she has been treated and is properly cared for. She is also on grain free food, which is best for her skin.

Gizzy has been spayed, updated on all vaccines, had a dental, was recently groomed/nails trimmed/ears cleaned, thus the adoption donation is 300. As a non profit rescue, all adoption fees go directly toward the funding of the care of the rescue animals. She is patiently waiting for her family to find her and show her just how loved she can be! If you are interested in meeting Gizzy and adding her to your family, please email furgetmenotrescue@gmail.com AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION at www.furgetmenotrescue.org (no one will be considered until an application is submitted!)
