** Update from foster **

Personality- affectionate, playful, energetic, social, loves to be with people and is a bit of a velcro dog. He does bark to alert if someone arrives etc. but is not an overly yappy fellow.
Strangers- Sometimes nervous and barks at men but overall very social
Dogs- great with all dogs.
Cats- not exposed to cats here
Little kids- Great with kids of all ages..does jump up, however
Energy level-medium
House rules - Sleeps in crate thru day if no one is home but not at night.. and now has become a great bed buddy to sleep with . He loves to get on sofa and cuddle while watching tv.
Needs to be accompanied when out to potty to make sure he does it. He does not like to go out if it is raining and when he first arrived he would mark in the house and go on mats inside if not supervised. He is now trained and has not had any accidents inside.
Update from foster mom - Danny is sleeping through the night now and have not had any recent accidents inside

The longest I have left him has been 4 hours and the bed was shredded and his blanket wet d/t to drooling { stress }. He will shred any bedding in his crate when he is alone and he also does vocalize so would not advise an apartment /townhouse that might bother neighbours and is not suitable for him.
Danny definitely is a dog that likes company, he is a bit of a Velcro dog. I think he could manage as an only dog as long he had human company and was not left alone for extended periods of time. A retiree might be better. He seems fine if left with only a mat and no shreddable bedding for a couple of hours and with other dogs nearby, but he does not like it. I think maybe the extended time crated on that air flight may have affected these guys anxiety with being crated and left.
He is fine in the crate at night but he is in a room with other dogs and me

Food- He loves food..all food.
Crate- trained. Good in crate. May protest a few minutes at first but then settles down
Toys- Likes to chase balls but won’t bring them back. Not a real toy obsessed guy
Likes-people, cuddles, attention, walks.
Dislikes- can be a bit nervous with loud noises such as noisy trucks and farm equipment sounds
Leash- Walks well on leash
Grooming- Fine with grooming, enjoys it
Traveling- Travels well. Prefers not to be crated in the car but is ok in crate though can be a bit vocal
Fears- loud noises, sudden unexpected movement on walks make him a bit skittish
Best home- Pretty adaptable. Should be great in any home that can give him the attention he enjoys. He does get underfoot and will lie down right at your feet when working in the kitchen so have to be aware and if someone is unsteady or with children that could fall on him or bother it may be of concern as he is small. He would do best with a fenced yard as he will go exploring when outside and seems drawn to water(pond)
Routine-Out first thing in the morning to potty. If not accompanied may not go. Then breakfast, then throughout the day play with other dogs in fenced yard, outside when needed, walks, etc. Sleeps at night in crate in bedroom and is crated if we go out.

Danny has arrived!! OMG.... he is such a character!!!... He loves to talk to you..lol... demanding attention.. like " yoooo hoo... i'm here ? Very social, happy fellow... and if you talk to him... he will talk/ mutter back :) He was the life of the party!!
The whole exp of the trip/ airport/ strangers... didn't fiz him at all!!! he couldn't even care :).
He does walk on a leash- but pulls. He has no recall and knows his name fairly well....He would be great for a someone looking for a social dog who loves everyone!!!
He rides well in the crate and is quiet.. but if he would see me busy.. he would talk to get attention- so this would need work on.

More to come as we learn / confirm this dogs needs as she settles in foster care..
