****Southern California Applicants only
Weight: 50 lbs
Age: 1 year and 3 months old
Personality: Very playful, energetic, smart and sweet. She is friendly to people and other dogs. She is also good with kids but due to her size and strength, adult supervision is necessary when interacting with small children.
Coat: Flat-Coated Retrievers are relatively easy to maintain and require only weekly brushing unless the dog is shedding. Then you'll probably want to brush daily to keep the amount of loose hair floating around under control. You can trim the ears, feet, belly, and tail tip for neatness. Bathe as needed.
Training: She knows basic commands and is very smart. This is a slow-maturing breed, which means that she will act puppylike for several years beyond physical maturity. Onyx will need continuous training.
Potty trained: Yes, Potty outside and needs to be let out every few hours.
Health: Healthy and up to date with vaccination
History: Onyx was rescued from South Korea where her owner dumped her when the owner got pregnant. Her owner raised her in the patio and she was not taken care properly.
Fostered in: La Mirada.
Type of home: A family or single with an active life style. She has a lot of energy and is very strong. She will need a lot of exercise and will be a perfect hiking/jogging partner.
Crate trained: Yes
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Kids: Yes
Good with Cats: Unknown
Adoption fee (non-refundable): $500.00
All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.
