My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Cowboy (HWTH#16342A). He is a Dachshund mix, DOB: 2/3/16 (Tiger is his sibling). Cowboy weighs approximately 20 pounds and stands 12 inches at the shoulders. This is a very loving little guy (he likes to give small kisses) who may be a little unsure when being introduced to his environment in his new Forever home, or perhaps not. At present, Cowboy is residing with a volunteer for Halfway to Home and 15 other dogs of various sizes, breeds and ages with no problems. His foster dad says Cowboy is very playful with the other dogs and has a bold personality. So, at most it should not take Cowboy very long to adjust to his new home and with lots of love, good-quality human companionship and structure, he will settle in nicely. If Cowboy had a canine companion at his new home to play with that might help as well. Cowboy has learned to use a dog door and is crate trained. When Cowboy is thoroughly comfortable in his new Forever home, he will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training and the bonding process. Once he has bonded with his new owner, Cowboy will be an amazing canine companion. It will also be helpful to have an abundant supply of chew toys for Cowboy so he has an outlet for puppy chewing.
