Facts about Phoebe

  • Breed: German Shorthaired Pointer
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Phoebe is a 2-3 year old spayed German Shorthaired Pointer. She is an energetic girl and would love to find a home where she can run and stretch her legs! Phoebe has some challenges younger children, so would prefer any children in the home to be about 12 and older. She may be able to be integrated into a home with a resident dog if the owner is experienced and knowledgeable about the breed and behavior. Phoebe is a smart girl and knows how to sit and she is a very polite leash walker! The ideal home for Phoebe would be one where her owners are home majority of the time, she loves to be around people! Phoebe can be anxious at times so it would be beneficial if her owners continued to keep her occupied with fun stuff! She would make a fantastic jogging buddy as she just loves to run and is so good on leash! Come meet Phoebe, she'll be a wonderful forever dog!

About Michiana Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Michiana Humane Society has been helping our community's unwanted animals find homes for nearly 100 years. We believe that animals belong with families, and we do whatever we can to make that happen!

Come Meet Our Pets...

The shelter is currently open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for adoptions. You can find news of our activities on our Facebook page ( or our website.

Our Adoption Process...

Looking for a dog or cat? Here's how we do adoptions at MHS. Come into the shelter and find the pet you want to add to your family. Fill out an application form and leave it at the front desk. Then you call us the next morning to find out if you're approved!

Once your adoption is approved, if the pet is already spayed or neutered you can come in, complete the adoption contract, and take your baby home.

If a spay or neuter is required, MHS will schedule it within the next week. Once your pet's surgery is complete, you can come in and pick up.

Adoption fees are $135 for dogs and $85 for cats. That includes all initial vaccinations (except rabies), spay or neuter if required, heartworm or feline leukemia testing, and flea treatments.

Check out our website at for more details.
