My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rex!
Approx. 3 yrs old

Hi my name is Rex! I am a southern boy who traveled to the big city with my siblings, all the way from Alabama. I'm ready to find out what this great place has to offer me!

I am loving towards all people big and small, and I love all doggie friends! Wrestling is my favorite, and when my person tells me to stop, I stop. Little people can even wrap their arms around my neck! I may back away at some point but I do not get mad at all.

Walking is a fun activity I do not pull! My energy level is even keel, when and when I've had enough, I pace back and forth, but then I find a fluffy spot and lay down.

I am loyal to my people and love to see what they are doing when they are around.
I am crate trained and housebroken.

I LOVE attention. I try to steal it from anyone else being praised or loved on. When in the car I like to rest my head on the center consul from the back seat to the front, that way you can keep tabs on me :)

I don't need to bound around a whole lot to be happy just as long as I have love, so fence or no fence I do my business and come in quickly unless my dog friends want to play! But if no fence I for sure need a leash! I'm hoping that you'll think I'm as great as my foster family does when you come to visit me!

Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details.

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
