Melo's Story...
Hi, my name is MELO and I am a 3 year old light GINGER and WHITE male cat. Recently, I found myself on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter when my owner moved away and didn’t take me. Luckily Posh Pets rescued me just in the nick of time and now I’m in a nice foster home. Here are some of the things that my foster dad has said about me. “Melo is a VERY SWEET BOY. When I first met him, he was a little shy but it didn’t take him long to warm up. He always GREETS me at the door and FOLLOWS me around the room. He likes to LIE next to me on the couch or even ON me. He ADORES when I PET him. He’s also good with other CATS. He’s definitely not your stereotypical independent cat, MELO loves ATTENTION and loves HANGING OUT.” Well that should convince you to meet me! I am neutered, UTD on shots, and FIV/FeLV negative.

To meet me, fill out the CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Melo, a Long Beach Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Long Beach, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Long Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Long Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Long Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Long Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
