Facts about Charming

  • Color: Black (All)
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: AG
  • Hair: Short
My name is Charming, and I am a shy but so very sweet, petite Bombay/ black DSH mix fella who was born in April 2015. I have the Bombay mix's soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather as well as mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes. I do great with the other cats and am 'okay' with the dogs in my foster home.
I was surrendered to a high kill shelter by my family because they decided they didn't want me any more. Honestly, it was through no fault of my own. I was surprised because I thought I was a member of their family. No sense crying over spilt milk.
Well, that shelter was a scary place to be -- especially for a black kitty. Luckily my future foster meowmy loves black kitties and scooped me out of there to her safe haven.
Since I am so shy with people, I need someone who will love me forever, be patient, and let me come out of my shell to be the loving kitty I am inside! Hint: feed me little bits of deli oven-baked turkey, and I will be your best friend forever! (Smile) Won't you give me a chance? Everyone deserves a chance!
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the attached 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet or Google "Cats 101 Bombay."
Charming is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. His adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Charming, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet him.

About Buster's Friends

About Our Rescue Group...

Buster’s Friends, Inc. is a rescue group and non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to helping homeless and abandoned adult dogs and cats as well as puppies and kittens find permanent homes through our network of foster homes. We are not a shelter or facility, and all animals in our program are fostered by individuals who keep the animal in their residence until it is adopted. This foster care gives them specialized care in a nurturing home environment.
Buster’s Friends was created in memory of Jennifer Fields, who spent countless hours rescuing and fostering hundreds of Houston’s homeless animals prior to losing her battle to cancer in May 2009. As a tribute to Jennifer and her dedication, we named the group after her beloved dog Buster, who made the journey to the Rainbow Bridge in August 2008.
