Butter is a 6 yr old Sheltie. He has lived with his parents and doggie sibling his entire life and was very well cared for with regular vet visits and grooming visits every 6 weeks. Butter's parents had a baby and the baby made him pretty nervous, but his parents tried really hard to make him as comfortable as possible and spent one-on-one time with him. About 6 months ago, his parents had a second child and Butter was just miserable. He was not snappy or ill-behaved, but became very withdrawn and just not himself. It was very clear to his parents that he would be happier in a home without young children. Since it is very hard to send children back, Butter is looking for a forever home without any small children. He does very well meeting new people and dogs and is a total sweetheart. He is potty trained and a good citizen all around.
This dog will be ready to leave our care in time for CPR's Triple Event Weekend! First, CPR with be with North Shore Animal League on Friday, October 28th at Petland in Southbury, CT from 2pm-6pm. Then, CPR will be at Petsmart in Meriden, CT on Saturday, October 29th from 10am-2pm. Lastly, CPR will be at Cheshire Cat and Dog Too in Cheshire, CT on Sunday, October 30th from 10am-2pm. PRE-APPROVAL is REQUIRED to bring home a pup from SUNDAY'S event If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event. You can apply while you are there, but the application will not be processed the same day. Come meet our pups and find your forever friend!
Butter is available to be met at our Southbury CT adoption center upon approval of your application.
This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative and also has been examined by a CT vet in compliance with HB 5368. The adoption fee is $400.
