Adele's Story...
AVAILABLE 10-16-16 On 10-10-16 an Animal Control Officer was called to pick up two dogs "running at large as strays" in Elizabeth City. These two dogs were brought to the Shelter and named Adele and Adler. We're thinking that Adele might be the mother of Adler. They are so cute and have so much fun playing together. Both were wearing collars, so we were sure someone would be looking for them, but no one called, no one came so they are now available for adoption. They have markings like a Catahoula, but short legs and wiry fur like a Scottie or Wirehaired Terrier. You really have to see these two in person to appreciate their "cuteness", so come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City to meet Adele and Adler - better hurry before someone gets them before you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Adele, a Elizabeth City Catahoula Leopard Dog/Wirehaired Fox Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Wirehaired Fox Terrier for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Wirehaired Fox Terrier dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog/Wirehaired Fox Terrier breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog/Wirehaired Fox Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
