Facts about Brutus

  • Breed: Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With White
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Brutus is a 19 week old small mixed breed puppy. His mom is a Chihuahua, possibly mixed with Rat or Jack Russell terrier. His dad appeared to be a small Heeler mix. He is currently around 20 lbs, is healthy and current on his shots & de-worming. Brutus got his name because he was the biggest pup in the little, and much bigger than most of the others. He is still very rolly polly and sometimes trips over his own feet. He is already a good natured, fun loving boy that already loves to play fetch. He is started on housetraining with puppy pads, and has started some crate training. He is not neutered yet and will only be adopted out with a spay/neuter contract and deposit.

His mom was left to fend for herself in the desert when her family moved away. She was extremely shy and avoided capture until just 2 weeks before the puppies were born. Her 14 pound body was housing 8 puppies. She miraculously gave birth to 7 of them before the 8th became lodged and she needed an emergency C-section. Please check out other listings for any siblings that are still available.

Adoption in Arizona only.

About Rocky Bottom Ranch Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Rocky Bottom Ranch Rescue is operated by family, friends, and volunteers. We rescue Cane Corso Dogs, Corso mixed dogs, and all breeds of horses. Our love of the animals is the heart of our ranch. In addition to regular full-time jobs, our days are consumed by rescue operations, rehabilitations, finding loving new homes for our animals, continued learning, and educating others.
We are pursuing our 501(c)(3) status, but for now donations are not tax deductable. We are only able to help these animals because of generous donations from people like you. Please consider adopting one of our animals, or if you aren’t looking to add a new addition to your family, check into our sponsorship programs, or consider making a donation.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, you will need to start by contacting us, so we know which dog/horse you are interested in. We will send you an adoption application. After you complete and return the application, we will review your application, check your references, and determine if the animal you are interested in is a good match for you. If the application and match are good, we will set up a home visit. If you have any other animals, it is during this time that your pets will make the final decision. If the home inspection and meet-n-greet go good, there is an adoption contract and adoption donation. The amount of the required donation varies by age, breed, and training. For dogs it is between $100 and $500. For horses it is between $500 and $2000. Before placing our animals in new homes, they all receive a vet check, all vaccinations (age appropriate), worming if necessary, & will be micro-chipped. Dogs/puppies will be spayed / neutered, licensed with the county, & will be heart-worm tested. Any stallions will be gelded.
