Here's what the humans have to say about me:
VALENTINA is a beautiful 8 month old Dachshund/Beagle mix. She really does not show any Beagle in her, but she was DNA tested which came back part Beagle. Valentina is all black with a little white on her chest, very long and low to the ground, and weighs 18 lbs. Valentina and her 4 siblings were all given Valentine's names because they were all born here at my foster home on February 14th, Valentine's Day! The others are female (Scarlett) and 3 males (Valentino, Teddy & Love Bug)! I was excited that Valentina's little brother, "Valentino", was adopted by my daughter; they look fairly similar. All 5 puppies look nothing like their Mom Martha except for being low and long like a Dachshund! One was all golden, one looked like a Beagle, one was all white with big black spots, and 2 black! Her possible older brother &/or Dad "Billy", is still here at my foster home, and he looks a lot like Valentina and Valentino.
Valentina is very smart, and very loving. She taught herself to ring the hanging bells on the door knob when she wants to go outside to go potty. She plays great with all the other dogs here, mostly with the 4 other little dogs, but she absolutely loves my big 60- lb. Retriever "Jake" and she will greet him in the morning or after a nap, by jumping up as high as she can to give him kisses! At dinnertime, she jumps up and down, running all the way to her crate in the next room because she knows that's where she eats! Valentina is very gentle, but she can also get right in there and play a little rowdy with the other dogs too. She enjoys pulling the stuffing out of the dog toys and thinks it is just a fun thing to do, so we just leave the stuffing out and let her play with them as is! To help you distinguish, in the pics here, Valentina is all black and wearing a pink collar, and her dad/brother Billy has a big white chest and a little white on his snout with a purple collar.
