Maxine is currently living in a foster home in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

Hey, its Maxine here. I am so happy to leave my other life behind. I am a little girl and my life was spent outside on a chain bigger than me. The people I lived with did not feed me very often so I was pretty thin. Since arriving at the rescue my meals are very regular and I am putting weight on. I weighed 7-6 lbs on October 10. Its great here because I can watch TV with my friends, go on walks and enjoy life. Lately I can tell my friends here are teaching me to go potty outside. I have had some accidents but getting the hang of this routine. The best thing I like is to sit in your lap or next to you. I sleep in a crate at night. I go out on a regular basis to get this housebreaking routine down. Please let me know when we can meet. I am looking for a family to love.

NOTE: Maxine is great with other dogs as long as she is not in your lap and another dog wants to get in your lap. She seems territorial. Perhaps it could be from being left out on a chain and unattended to for so long.
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a home visit and a meet and greet.
Please note that preference will be given to Wisconsin adoptions, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.00.
