Huey's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Huey's Story...
Huey is a great guy with special needs. He was a barn cat who was forced to hunt for his food (mice) with other cats. Somehow he got hurt - the vet thinks he was probably kicked; his pelvis was broken and his spine was hurt. He could no longer hunt so he lost a lot of weight and the other cats started attacking him.

A good samaritan stepped in and brought him to us to care for medical needs. He can walk and jump but he doesn't walk on his back feet - he walks more on his hocks.

Huey isn't feral but he's a little shy. Once he decides your safe he is SUPER affectionate. He has never hissed or shown any aggression, even when he was uncomfortable.

Huey would do best in home with out very small children. He's been introduced to cats and dogs and is doing well with them. He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and Leukemia/FIV tested.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Huey, a Bloomington Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bloomington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bloomington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bloomington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bloomington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bloomington paves the way for another one to be saved.
