Jackie's Story...
My name is Jackie. I am a very cute red Chihuahua mix, my foster mom says she thinks I am mixed with dachshund. My foster mom says I have the prettiest eyes she has seen on a dog. They are a unique golden color and huge. I am already spayed. I’m also current on my vaccines. I came from a hoarding situation and was taken to PACC where I was very scared. I was kenneled with three of my sisters, after two of my sisters were adopted my foster mom decided I needed a place to be comfortable. I was scared with all the dogs barking and so many people walking by, especially since I had just been taken from my home. I’m still a little unsure of my foster home, but my foster siblings have been nice and shared their bones and toys. I like to play with my foster brother but I am a little bigger than he is, so he is not sure how to play with me. I am not sure I want a cat sibling, I like to chase them while barking. I like to follow my foster mom around where ever she goes. I am still unsure of being petted when you walk towards me, but have come so far in such a short time my foster mom thinks I will be an outgoing social butterfly soon!!! If you sit down I will come lay next to you for pets. I am not a fan of the crate and I have convinced my foster mom to let me sleep in bed under the covers with her. My foster mom is so excited because I am potty trained! I go outside and if she isn’t home and I really need to go I will use the puppy pads. My foster mom is still getting to know me and will let you know more about me when she knows. My foster mom thinks I need someone with some patience, but is sure when I find my forever home it won’t take long for me to settle in and bond. I think I would like a brother or sister and wouldn’t mind older children who understand I need some time to warm up to them. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jackie, a Mesa Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
