Facts about Mr Bruiser

  • Breed: Boxer
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Mr. Bruiser is pretty new to ABR, so we are learning more about him every day. We know he’s a good guy who needs some groceries. He’s 10 years old and healthy so we can’t figure out why his owners left him at a shelter near Dallas. He’s a big flashy fawn boy who has been well behaved in his foster home. He tests barely heartworm positive so just monthly preventive is all he needs and he’s a Silverheart.

Mr. Bruiser was with a long time foster parent and her female silverheart. They did fine but foster mom’s place is not very big, and her elderly mother lives there too, and Mr. Bruiser is a big boy with a good deal of enthusiasm. Sooo, he needed more space and is now in a foster home more suited to his style.. He is house, crate and leash trained and does very well on walks. We don’t know if he’s met cats or kids but he’s ok with other dogs.

Like many of our rescues, Mr. Bruiser tends to cower at a raised hand or raised voice. He’s really a good boy and responds very well to calm, firm direction and praise. He is a snuggler and is eager to please. A calm, patient family who loves to go for walks and have a loyal companion is looking for Mr. Bruiser and here he is.
