Meet Ripley. This ultra handsome guy came to us from IACS after his near-death experience; he was one day past his euthanasia date when we sprung him from doggy jail. Thankfully that extra day of reprieve gave us the chance to get our ducks in a row and make Ripley a PawSwaP dog. Our new addition is a 4-year-old-ish (it's just a guess) mixed breed guy who looks to have some genes from the spaniel, spitz, and collie families. He isn't very large at all, just about 48 pounds.
Ripley is friendly and happy who teeters between total independence and extra sweet and affectionate. He is a fast learner who will enjoy having a special person to train and teach him all sorts of fun tricks. Ripley one drawback is that he does not care for other dogs. He is fine at the vets office and going for walks. Even at the shelter he walked past dogs without issue, but he doesn't really want to play or really interact. Ripley seems to want to chase cats. We would trust Ripley with most kids. He is a silly, fun guy who would probably love someone to play ball with him.

If you look closely (or maybe with just a glance) you can see Ripley's dreadlocks on his ears. Since Ripley is currently being boarded, he has not received a proper grooming, but we plan to have this done as soon as possible. Another item we keep forgetting is that Ripley is at very least mostly deaf. There are moments when he reacts to certain sounds or vibrations. Most of the time, though, Ripley cannot hear even the most basic sounds. The upside to this, Ripley is very quiet himself and a very deep sleeper. He is being treated for a fairly severe ear infection, so there may be some improvement after the course of his medication.

Ripley is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is also housebroken and crate trained.

If you would like to offer Ripley a foster or forever home please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $150.

About PawSwaP of Greater Lafayette

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a rescue/ rhoming service that provides education and assistance for owners in our community to keep pets in their home. When that is not an option or we come across animals in need, we will take them into our foster-based program, work with them, seek all necessary vetting, and find them the perfect home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do various adoption events in the community. If you would like to meet one of our available adoptables, please email us! pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com

Our Adoption Process...

The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application on our website. Once we have reviewed the applications, we will contact the potential adopters to arrange a meet and greet. This can take several days depending on the popularity of the animal.
