CASEY: 11 ½ year old spayed female Black Lab Mix 99 Pounds
Casey came to the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter in August she is microchipped, but no one came looking for her. Her microchip had not been updated, so the shelter was not able to contact Casey’s family. The shelter contacted Lab Rescue to see if they could help this sweet lady find a home. When our rescue volunteer saw Casey laying nicely in her kennel with those beautiful, soulful eyes, she knew Casey was for us, and we needed to help her find her “forever home.”
A few of the nice things about older dogs, “what you see is what you get!” No potty training, no long hours of continuous exercise to get out the wiggles and jiggles. Casey is good with nice leisurely walks, loves to play fetch, she will bring a tennis ball back to you and put it in your hand. She is a very smart girl! She loves to ride in the car, never making a peep, she will sit quietly and look out the window. Casey was fine with the other dogs in the shelter; she is more interested in people, not sure about cats, though.
Casey is an older lady, so she does come with some lumps and bumps, she has been treated for a skin rash and is improving, her hair is improving nicely. She has some Arthritis which is common at her age, but she has plenty of energy and moves well.
Casey loves people and loves being with them. She would love to have a family that will take care of her, give her a nice warm bed to rest her head at night; could that family be you? She is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, has also had a senior panel done.
Notes from the foster mom:
Casey is a very sweet Lab mix. Very gentle, loves her walks and does well in the car. Loves all people and does not seem to be nothered by cats or other dogs. Nice sweet older girl!

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
