My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi all, my name is Farley. I am a very adorable and devoted 10 mnth old male chihuahua who was rescued from a Cali shelter along with my brother Casper. No one knows how we became homeless at such a young age. I have an unequaled love of my foster family, even including their bunny. Getting affection and being snuggled is just about my favorite pastime. But I also LOVE going for walks and runs in the forest. When I meet other dogs I am Mr. Playmeister. I will do my best to get every dog I meet to engage with me. Of course being a small dog I feel it is important to let them know that I am the boss. My foster family is certain that I believe I am a big dog. When we get back home I like to sleep, my third favorite pastime.

I am timid with people I don't know, and am sometimes afraid of strange men. I have bitten two men I didn't know who scared me. When people I don't know come to visit the house it is best if I am kept on leash for awhile until I become comfortable and relaxed with our guests. This happens faster if the quests feed me treats. Once I trust them I am just as loving and affectionate with them as I am with my owners. Nevertheless I would do best in a quiet home with not too many visitors. I am also not very comfortable with young kids so need a home with older or no children.

With my people I am extremely loving and very eager to please. I walk politely on the leash, know how to sit, stay and fetch (that's my favorite!). I love my stuffies and enjoy carrying them around the house with me. It is very endearing if I do say so myself.

I am mostly housetrained but still need a bit of a reminder now and then, especially if it is raining outside. I am neutered and up to date on my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $450.
