My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Half of Ranger's adoption has now been sponsored. His adoption fee for the luck family who falls in love with this boy is $125.00. If you would like to meet handsome pup, please fill out an adoption application by clicking this link http://angelsonwheels.org/canine-adoption-application/

Meet adorable Ranger. We believe Ranger is about 7-10 months old and weighs about 55 pounds. He still has some growing to do so we feel he will get over 60 pounds which is considered a large dog. He is super friendly, and extremely smart. We believe he is a Black Mouth Cur mix possibly with some shepherd given his coat. He is super friendly, and sweet. . He's easy to train! The foster trained him to come, sit, and lay down in minutes! he is a very loyal dog who LOVES to cuddle on the couch. He's gonna make someone a great partner.

Ranger does really well with children and other dogs. He's in a foster home right now with a female, medium sized dog who he loves to play. He was tested with other dogs before arriving and he did great with them all. Given his energy, he may not be the best match for a senior dog because a senior may not appreciate the energy of a bigger youngster. We feel a home with out felines would be best and he wants to chase them and can be a little rough with them.

Ranger is still a young pup, so will need continued training from his new family. He does need to be reminded not to use his mouth when playing. He's mostly potty trained but does not tell the foster when he has to go. They let him out with with the resident dog a lot, and he will do his business outside when let out often. His new family will need to continue to work with him on his house training. He pulls when being walked but hes controllable and when benefit from a gentle leader or harness. So far he's quiet, only barks when hes outside. When he did bark in the house, the foster corrected the in house barking, and super smart Ranger caught on not to bark inside pretty quickly. He does very well in the crate, but he did eventually tear up his crate cushion. Ranger is at that age, and will need exercise to be sure he doesn't get bored. If your gone all day working, you will need to commit to enrolling him in Doggy Daycare so he doesn't build up that energy all day. With a strong, confident owner, Ranger is going to thrive, and be the loyal companion everyone dreams of.

If you are seeing Ranger posted for adoption, he is still looking for a home so there is no need to email us asking if he's available. We update the site regularly. If your interested in meeting this adorable boy, please complete an adoption application by going to our website at www.angelsonwheels.org and clicking on the "forms" tab. We need to have a submitted adoption application and processed prior to making an appointment since we do not have a facility or regular viewing hours.

Ranger was found as a stray in Kentucky. He wondered to a family's home starving. He was only 35 pounds when the family began feeding him, and in weeks he regained his weight. He's smart, he didn't leave the property where he knew he would get regular meals. The family who found him has allergies and couldn't bring him indoors. They wanted a better life for him then living outdoors. When we saw him, our foster said YES, and we were able to bring him to Illinois for a better life.

Ranger is being fostered in a home in Montgomer, IL. You must live within an hour of Montgomery in order to adopt as the foster will bring the dog to you for a meet and greet. All family members must be present at the time of the meet and greet. In order to schedule a meet and greet, please submit and adoption application which can be found on-line at http://angelsonwheels.org/canine-adoption-application/ We must have an adoption application submitted and processed prior to making an arrangements for a meet and greet. Once we receive the application we will process. We are all volunteers so it can take a few days to process it. Please be patient. Thank you.

Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but is required prior to making arrangements for a meet and greet as all of our animals are cared for in homes. We can't schedule meet and greets until the application is submitted and approved. We don't have a building so there are no viewing hours. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes by wonderful families who volunteer their time to save these precious souls. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Although we make the best guess on the breed and size of our dogs, because they come from shelters or are strays, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the dog. Breed and weight at maturity are only guesses. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED! If an animal is still posted for adoption, he/she is still available. If you see this this post, this puppy is available for adoption so there is no need to email asking about availability.

Thank you for looking at our rescued animals!
